From sourcing high-grade raw materials to precision rolling and final testing, every stage of production is carefully monitored to ensure consistency, strength, and safety in every product.
TSL TMT Sariya – Manufacturing Process
1. Premium Raw Material – Pure Iron Ore, No Scrap
The journey begins with high-grade virgin iron ore, sourced from mineral-rich regions like Jharkhand.
TSL uses no scrap, ensuring 100% purity and consistency in every melt. This forms the foundation for high-strength, contamination-free steel.
2. Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF) – Deep Chemical Control
The molten metal is refined in a Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF), where impurities like sulphur and phosphorus are removed, and exact chemical balance is achieved.
This stage ensures the steel is chemically pure and structurally sound, ready for shaping.
3. Continuous Casting – Billet Perfection
Refined steel is poured into a Continuous Casting Machine (CCM) to form billets.
This process ensures uniform grain structure, dimensional accuracy, and a flawless base for high-quality TMT bars.
4. Automated Rolling & Rib Formation
Billets are heated and passed through a fully-automated rolling mill,
where they are shaped into bars of precise diameter with defined rib patterns.
These ribs provide superior bonding with concrete, enhancing structural integrity.
5. Quenching & Self-Tempering – Dual-Strength Structure
Hot-rolled bars are instantly cooled using high-pressure water in the quenching system,
forming a hard Martensite surface while keeping the core ductile (Ferrite + Pearlite).
This creates the unique TMT structure: strong outside, flexible inside —
perfect for earthquake zones and heavy-load projects.
6. Testing, Certification & Dispatch
Every batch undergoes strict testing for tensile strength, elongation, bendability, and chemical composition,
as per IS 1786:2008 and international standards.
Only fully certified bars are dispatched, each marked with the TSL identity of trust.
